2018 has left many unforgettable moments for Vans fans. Not only did Vans follow the trend to bring new shoe styles such as the distinctive Varix WC and UltraRange series, but it also “remade” many vintage shoe styles in its long history and presented them to people. Bold Ni is one of the most well-sourced pair of Vans retro shoes that have not only gone on sale at home, but have recently been reintroduced overseas with five new vintage color palettes.
The Vans Bold Ni, originally known as Style #77, was created in the 1990s with a pair of Vans shoes that were as small as the Style 36 and featured the Vans Sidestripe on both sides. Although this side bar is quite different from the normal size, it is still very recognizable. Style #77, which was all the rage in the ’90s, is back with the popular t-toe toe, which gives it a retro edge.
The Vans Bold Ni is remembered for its “giant” Sidestripe, which was worn by the Sidestripe because it extended to the toe and overlapped with the shoelace eyelet commonly found in classic shoes.
As ever, their palette is still very much contemporary: from carmine pink, dark green and sapphire blue to ibis orange and zinnia yellow, a complex yet retro mix.
The Bold Ni still makes the body out of chunky suede, with solid white detailing everywhere. In contrast to the original three colors, the outsoles of the five new pairs are all covered in black with the “Vans Logo” printed on the dark green and yellow waterlines. It is not known when these 5 pairs will be sold in China.
Each pair of Bold Ni comes with a black insole and the Vans Logo printed in white on the heel. The Bold Ni model also comes with Vans’ very lightweight UltraCush Lite insole for a more comfortable and light foot.
The Vans Bold Ni 2019 range is now available on the Vans website. The 5-pair Bold Ni costs from $65 to $70
