In march, the hugely popular animated TV show “JOJO’s fantastic adventures: the wind of gold” announced that it would be co-branded with Vans Japan, taking inspiration from the two main characters, Giorno Giovanna and Bruno Bucciarati, and remaking them into themed Era and slipping-on shoes.
“JOJO’s amazing adventure: the wind of gold” is the fifth installment of the animated series of the same name created by kazuhiko araki. The content is slightly different from the original work, and the entire animated series has accumulated extremely high popularity since its premiere on Tokyo MX on October 5, 2018. While Vans had a large number of co-branded collections, there were few “secondary” collaborations, so the joint venture was immediately the talk of the day.
Two of the co-branded pairs were modified by Vans Japan regional line, which was much longer and more fitted to Asian feet than the original. Vans Era is derived from the classic pink-velvet look of Giorno Giovanna. The shoe fully reproduces the figure, with a hollowed-out, gold-rimmed heart-shaped tongue, embroidered wing pattern on the heel, and a strapless design with special brass fittings to adorn the lacing.
Slip-On takes the model of Bruno Bucciarati as a reference, with white as the main color and the whole body dotted with “tadpole” pattern. The golden zipper on the toe refers to the design and production of figure clothing, which becomes the biggest highlight of the whole shoe style. After opening, it can be seen that “Are you ready for this? I know I am!” And Arrivederci/goodbye, two classic lines from Bruno.
Two pairs of shoes not only restore the classic shapes of the two protagonists one by one, but also use them in details: the original portraits of the two characters can be seen on the insole, the outboard side of the outsole package is set with protruding rubber blocks, the upper part is printed with “JOJO” Logo Logo, and the joint shoe box is also carefully designed, with sky blue as the background color, dotted with flowers.
