First introduced in 1978, this foundational Nike relic returned as a retro earlier this year. After its revival of the Air Tailwind 79, Nike is set to re-release an OG “Royal Blue” colorway for the retro runner. This Nike Tailwind 79 takes on a mix of mesh and suede throughout the upper keep things true to the OG while being draped in Indigo Force (blue). Contrasting White is then placed on the Swoosh logos, heel tab, laces, tongue, and midsole. Finishing details include an exposed tongue, OG Nike branding on the tongue, additional Nike branding on the heel, and a black rubber outsole.
Priced at $100 USD, the Air Tailwind 79 OG “Royal Blue” is set to release at select retailers and nike.com on December 20.
