Antihero and Vans have many things in common. They are both respected, highly independent and historically Californian brands. Not only that, they all co-sponsored four professional skaters: John Cardiel, Chris Pfanner, Jeff Grosso and Tony Trujillo. This year’s collaboration between Antihero and Vans marks a return to the brand four years after their last collaboration, but unlike previous brand-to-brand collaborations, the two have teamed up to bring the four skaters from behind the scenes and create a pair of shoes for each of them.
Old Skool Pro is made for John Cardiel; Chris Pfanner gets a Slip On Pro; Sk8-mid Pro is a joint shoe for Jeff Grosso. Tony Trujillo’s signature shoe is TNT Advanced Prototype.
Antihero, the most respected skateboard brand in the industry, was founded in San Francisco in 1995 by skater Julien Stranger. This time, Antihero still put his favorite brown and dark blue shoes On the joint shoes. Old Skool Pro is made in full brown, TNT Advanced Prototype combines brown and black, Slip-On Pro is blue and black, and sk8-mid Pro is shown in full black.
For this collection, we’ve included Pro Skate Skate technology for exclusive suede and canvas footwear: TNT Advanced Prototype is Tony Trujillo’s brand new signature shoe. It also USES the UltraCush Lite 3D insole. It improves on the original lightweight and highly responsive UltraCush Lite.
Meanwhile, a new collaboration between Antihero and Vans was created: a pair of Vans shoes were hung on what appeared to be a tangle of wires, while pigeons stood on the wires to represent Antihero. This joint design is printed on the heel of the insole of the joint shoe, as well as on the front and back of the hoodie, short-sleeved T-shirt, long-sleeved T-shirt, shirt and hat.
