The road to gold isn’t pretty. And every year, the competition gets tougher — athletes have to train more and fight harder than ever before. But the top of the podium is worth the calloused hands and trembling muscles. The special-edition “Medal Strong” Nike Metcon 5 honors this gritty journey. The hazy black upper appears distressed, as though it has been broken in and sweated on. Pops of gold for men and rose gold for women at the heel represent how naturally-occurring metallic gold comes out of the ground: not yet polished, but still valuable.
The Nike Metcon 5 ‘Medal Strong’ Pack will first release on July 22nd to NikePlus members and then on July 25th via Nike.com. They will also appear on the competition floor in August.
