Laika, the film production company run by Travis Knight, Nike Chairman Phil Knight’s son, is set to release its fifth picture, Missing Link, this April. Inspired by the new comedy adventure, Missing Link, from LAIKA, comes the latest addition to the Air Max family, the Air Max Susan. The shoe’s name is drawn from the beginning of the film, in which Mr. Link introduces himself as “Susan” in a ham-handed attempt to hide his true identity from Frost, who’s the world’s greatest monster chaser. Speaking about the collaboration, Tinker Hatfield explained that “the Air Max 1 has always been a really uplifting, happy design.
Nike has a long-time partnership with the LAIKA studio, and while many shoes have been produced in tandem over the years, the Missing Link Air Max Susan is the first to release commercially.
The Missing Link x Nike Air Max Susan is set to release on April 9, with the Missing Link movie slated to hit theaters just three days later.
