Mastermind JAPAN is renowned for its dark style. After its strong return in 2016, mastermind JAPAN has cooperated with Vans for many times and brought many famous works. After saying goodbye to 2018 with a pair of sk8-hi Zip shoes at the beginning of last month, the two sides have recently come together to welcome the brand new 2019.
Mastermind JAPAN brought in a Slip-On before the spring, and it’s covered in black, the main color of the brand. Slip-On, with the same black scheme as before, was made of silk and had a very shiny body. Mastermind JAPAN embroideries the “JAPAN” English and the brand’s iconic black skull pattern On the Slip-On toe head.
The Slip-On also USES mastermind JAPAN’s common outsole edge design: white On the front and black On the back, with a black waterline to match. The same text appears on the left side of the Vans Logo on the heel of the insole, accompanied by a skull pattern.
As usual, in addition to a Slip-On collaboration, mastermind JAPAN also brought a black T-shirt with short sleeves. THE front of THE T-shirt shows THE logos of THE two sides in red and black, while THE reverse side is printed in white with a big “OFF THE WALL” in English and a skull pattern.
Mastermind JAPAN x Vans 2019 joint collection will be released in JAPAN in limited edition On January 11. The Slip-On will cost 17280 JPY (tax included) and the T-shirt will cost 8640 JPY (tax included).
