‘Memphis Tigers’ Nike Air Foamposite One PE Is Releasing Soon

Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway who is the head coach of the Memphis Tigers, which is his alma mater, has just received an exclusive Nike Air Foamposite One. To pay homage to Hardaway and the Tigers, the Swoosh has drawn up a Memphis-friendly version of the Hall of Famer’s signature Air Foamposite One sneaker, adorned in a familiar black and royal blue color scheme. White laces, Black rubber outsole, housed in a custom wooden box with engraving of Penny’s personal motto, “Ballin’ Is What I Was Born To Do.”
The Nike Air Foamposite One QS “Memphis Tigers” are expected to launch this Saturday, Mar. 9 at select Nike Basketball stockists. Retail pricing has yet to be announced.

Nike was founded in 1964 as Blue Ribbon Sports and initially operated as a distributor for the Japanese shoemaker Onitsuka Tiger (now known as Asics). It officially became Nike Inc. in 1971.The Nike swoosh was designed by Portland State University student Carolyn Davidson,The slogan “Just Do It” was inspired by serial killer Gary Gilmore, who said “let’s do it” just before he was executed by a firing squad in 1977.
