The Nike Swoosh Chain Pack Is Inspired By ’70s Color Schemes

Nike and Foot Locker, Inc. will be celebrating the “The Evolution of the Swoosh,”by releasing three brand new packs. Each carries a different articulation of the Swoosh across Air Max, Air Force 1 and React Element 55 silhouettes. First up we have the Swoosh Chain Pack. Each silhouette comes dressed in ’70s color schemes and includes removable velcro accents.

Nike was founded in 1964 as Blue Ribbon Sports and initially operated as a distributor for the Japanese shoemaker Onitasuka Tiger (now known as Asics). It officially became Nike Inc. in 1971.The Nike swoosh was designed by Portland State University student Carolyn Davidson,The slogan “Just Do It” was inspired by serial killer Gary Gilmore, who said “let’s do it” just before he was executed by a firing squad in 1977.
