This Nike Air Force 1 Is Inspired By The 1989 NBA Finals

Dating back to 1989, Nike Sportswear will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Detroit Pistons first back to back championships by releasing a new Air Force 1. Their four game sweep of Magic Johnson’s “Showtime” Lakers to win the franchise’s first championship cemented the Bad Boys in the annuls of basketball history. This Force opts for a more flashy look, featuring an upper mostly composed of red patent leather that nods to one of the team’s uniform colors. The eyestays and throat are dressed in white, with further Pistons-style details arriving on the tongue’s alternate Nike logo. A simple white midsole and icy outsole complete the outwardly visible part of the look.
