Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER has been around since 1993 and this time Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER label will be teaming up with Nike for an upcoming collaboration on the Tailwind runner that originally debuted in the late 70s.
Jun Takahashi‘s latest sartorial chapter references both Western and Japanese pop culture, with influences ranging from Japanese anime show Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel to David Bowie‘s Ziggy Stardust (via graphic sweaters emblazoned with Mick Rock’s iconic images of the late singer) and Stanley Kubrick‘s A Clockwork Orange (an all-white collection with bowler hats and a Dr. Martens boot). Each Nike Tailwind comes with a modernized redesign featuring Grey suede mudguards, Black suede heels, with speckled detailing on the midsole and heel cages that displays UNDERCOVER branding. These new colorways join the ranks of the yellow/black and blue/black pairs unveiled this spring.
