“Rugged” has long been the most common comment by Vans fans about Vans shoes, but now Vans Classics has taken the bold step of making this seemingly unfriendly comment its own. That’s how a whole new line of Vans Classics “Foam” came to us.
This collection is based on the Vans classic Era and Old Skool and is presented in bright yellow and purple. The neckline design of the two pairs of shoes is the highlight of this series: the originally closed neckline is cut horizontally, exposing the white sponge that was originally filled here. This is not the first time this design has been used. As far back as last year, both the Old Skool and sk8-hi shoes were designed in this style in a joint NASA/Vans collection.
Old Skool used the same combination of purple suede and canvas to form the body of the shoes, supplemented by white stitching, shoelaces and other details. The Sidestripe on both sides was presented with yellow leather. Era’s entire body is covered in yellow, with silver metal lacing holes and white LACES. On top of that, both pairs were paired with classic white outsole hem and a fresh blue waterline.
A new line of Vans Classics “Foam” 2019 is now available, with an Old Skool at $70 and an Era at $65
