A joint venture called the “5×5 Project” has been announced recently. Vans Vault has invited Bows and Arrows, Notre, Slam Jam, Vier Antwerp, and WORKSOUT to do this with five different Arrows from around the world.
Each of the five pairs of shoes in the plan has a special design printed on the back of the insole: underneath the Vans Logo, two palm prints represent “5×5, “with “ORIGINALS” in uppercase English next to them.
Bows and Arrows, Bows and Arrows from the trendy San Francisco bay area, calif., Bows and Arrows were also the subject of a major joint venture led by the Vans Vault two years ago, but that time it was with the out-of-favor OG Runner LX. Bows & Arrows did not miss out on the “5×5 Project” Arrows joint venture, either. This time, Bows & Arrows will do the same.
We have been informed earlier that this pair of OG sk8-hi LX of B&A will be exported in black leather. Only the iconic Sidestripe Sidestripe and the outsole of the shoe style will be added with the prominent matching colors like rainbow, which will be presented in blue, red and yellow. Black covers every detail of the shoe, and even the Bows & Arrows Arrows on the tongue have the Vans Logo and “Bows & Arrows” in white on a black background.
Along with the shoes came a black biker jacket, complete in black, with the Vans and Bows & Arrows logos embroidered blue, red, and yellow on the chest, arms, and collar.
Notre is a fashion store located in Chicago, the United States. As a long-term appointed store of Vans Vault high-end branch, Notre has sold important shoes of high-end branch for many times. The invitation to join the “5×5 Project” is more like a “recognition” of the brand, which will be the first cooperation between the two sides.
Notre chose the popular OG Old Skool LX classic shoe, which is covered in white and green suede. The classic Sidestripe on the outside of Old Skool was replaced by Notre’s ingenious pattern of holding two hands together to represent “joint cooperation”. The shoe also features a white shoelace and a large bottom hem for details.
Slam Jam, a fashion store in milan, Italy, marked its 25th anniversary three years ago by collaborating with a number of fashion names, including the Vans Vault, under the name Rainbow Marshmallow. After three years of silence, the two sides finally met in this cooperation.
Slam Jam brought together British illustrator Fergus Purcell (Fergadelic) to design the Slam Jam. Fergadelic brought Vans’ signature checker pattern of black, red and white to the OG Era LX, which was covered in chunky canvas. The waterline, shoelace eyelet and shoelace are also decorated with black, white and red respectively. The back side of the outsole edge is also used to restore the English version of “SLAM JAM” in different styles.
Fergadelic also paid tribute to OG Era LX by adding the head of a beret man to the outsole, while the Vans Logo and the “Scene #FRG” Logo were printed on the front. “– this pattern was once the exclusive representative of Taka Hayashi.
While the OG Era LX kept Vans classic brown bottoms, nestle Fergadelic are still on the bottoms with gleaming black printed “Stamp Out Mediocnty/get rid of vulgar” in English, is very special.
Antwerp, a well-known shop from Belgium, Vier, is named for its location in the 4th block of Antwerp. Only 30 square meters of men’s clothing shop will be 38 different fashion brands of clothing, shoes included, has become a local fashion hipster will come to the “pilgrimage holy land.” Vier not only sells other brands, but also makes its own products. This very inclusive “shop” was also invited to participate in the joint cooperation.
Vier Antwerp will present a pair of Vans’ classic “one-foot, slouchy shoes” OG Slip On LX in “5×5 Project”. The simple shoes are made by Vier Antwerp in high-grade tiger leather, with black canvas filling the sides and white palm leaf patterns, and Vans Logo printed on the leaves.
The Slip On LX is wrapped in a classic white outsole with a black “Vamos a la playa/let’s go to the beach “logo near the heel. The shoe also comes with a special insole with a local street view printed on it.
South Korean street fashion shop WORKSOUT successfully entered yaoguting in Seoul in 2016. It has become a holy place for fashion hipsters to punch in because it contains several street brands, Japanese brands and selected sneakers and accessories. This is the first time that WORKSOUT and WORKSOUT have cooperated.
WORKSOUT selects OG Authentic LX as the blueprint for the design of Vans’ five classic shoe styles. In all things stylish, WORKSOUT covers the Authentic shoe body with silver reflective materials and paired with lighter gray shoelaces. The vamp not only sparkles, but also presents different colors under different lights.
The hem of the neckline is light blue and details such as stitching and waterline are outlined in black. The appearance seems simple and concise, but WORKSOUT did not forget to add translucent waffle outsole for Authentic, and the black and white checker grid on the middle sole is vaguely visible, which adds a lot of color to the whole pair of shoes.
