Following the recent launch of a new line featuring the new black tech “ComfyCush”, the Vans Vault premium line continues this month with the creation of the Vans Vault Originals line for the spring. This time, the Vans Vault again chose OG Era LX, one of the main characters of last fall/winter series, and OG sk8-hi LX, which is very popular with Vans fans, as the blueprint for the design.
The Era has been largely ignored by the Vans Vault for no apparent reason, but it has been back in the big time since the fall/winter collections. The OG Era LX combines the best of the fall/winter season with a very seasonal color palette: the toe, heel and tongue ridges are made from the Vans Vault standard premium suede, with vintage canvas chunks on both sides. The Vans Vault has the classic backdoor “ORIGINALS” printed on the heel in red and white.
The first two pairs of OG Era LX are colour-coded in brown through Dark Ivy Colourway and Chipmunk Colourway. White is used as a detail color for lacing, metal lacing holes, stitching and outsole hem.
The OG sk8-hi LX is dominated by the versatile Shale Black, with a deep blue leather Sidestripe straddling the sides of the upper and connecting the front and back. The sk8-hi tongue is also sewn with a red Vans Logo on a white background, and the details of the body are rendered in white that echoes the outsole hem.
The Vans Vault Originals spring 2019 collection is currently available in selected Vans Vault locations, with the OG sk8-hi LX priced at 79 GBP and the OG Era LX at 65 GBP
